Reuben's just catered a testimonial dinner at the Young Israel of Aberdeen last night. His food was excellent, very plentiful and magnificently presented. The chefs and wait staff were all extremely professional. Their set up and clean up went very smoothly. Without a doubt, I would strongly recommend them for any function of any size. It was a pleasure dealing with Reuben Rahmani, the owner. In addition, his new butcher shop, the Galaxy Kosher Meat Market, on Route 516 in Old Bridge, features the same prepared hot and cold foods, in addition to custom cutting all your meat needs. The Gourmet Galaxy is now owned by SUPERSOL. They have done a wonderful job in serving their community in West Orange. They have taken their catering to many other neighboring towns, and have been met with great reviews for both the quality of the food and the presentation. They have done a lot to improve the store, they now carry a wider range of groceries and fresh meat. Their catering department is well organized and dependable. -Hank Kaplowitz

The former Gourmet Galaxy is now owned and run by Reuben from Reuben's Glatt Spot in Elizabeth. He recently (June, 2005) catered an affair in our home. The food was excellent. It arrived on time by a helpful driver. The portions were large. Our guests especially raved about the teriyaki salmon. - Larry

At my latest simcha they were 10 minutes early, the driver helped us set up, and the food was elegantly presented and delicious!

Shomer Shabbat Take-out (and yummy) prepared foods and sandwiches with large selection of groceries. In 1999 this store changed hands, and it remains to be seen whether the new owners can do as good a job with catering as the Schermans, the previous owners. At a recent catering job, Gourmet Galaxy was 1 hour late, arriving after the guests, and deviated from the agreed-upon menu. Everything was tasty, however.
